About where.care
where.care is a direct-hire marketplace. Families hire independent caregivers. The product is software for introductions, messages, scheduling, and visit logs.
What the product does
A family can request care, browse caregivers, and message them. A booked shift can store a visit log. A caregiver can publish a profile with a rate, a care philosophy, certifications, and an optional introduction video.
What where.care does not do
- Employ caregivers or withhold household-employer taxes.
- Supervise care, set a clinical care plan, or assign clinical duties.
- Provide medical care or guarantee that a shift will be filled.
- Decide whether a benefit program will pay.
Where it is offered
The service is offered in the United States, including New York, California, Arizona, and nationwide browse. It is not offered as a European Union service. The service is for people 18 and older.
Checks and payments
A Checkr badge means a Checkr report is on file. A license review is a staff review of the number the caregiver submitted. When Stripe is enabled, a booked shift uses a card authorization captured after the visit. A booked shift includes a 10% platform fee. where.care does not hold payment in an escrow account.
