Terms of Service

Last updated: 2026-09-07

Welcome to where.care. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the where.care website, web application, and related services (collectively, the "Service") operated by where.care ("we", "us", "our"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Who we are

where.care is a discovery platform that helps families find verified private caregivers. We are not an employment agency or staffing agency. We do not employ caregivers listed on the platform and we do not enter into any employment relationship with families who hire them.

2. Family ↔ caregiver relationship

Families hire caregivers directly. Any agreement for services, rate, schedule, or scope of work is strictly between the family and the caregiver. where.care is not a party to that agreement. Consult IRS Publication 926 for guidance on household employer tax obligations.

3. Verification

We run a Checkr background check on every caregiver before their profile goes live. RN and LPN licenses are collected at signup and reviewed by our team against the issuing state board (or NCSBN e-Notify when we have a contract). NCSBN does not offer a public Nursys API, and we do not claim automated Nursys verification. Verification is a point-in-time check; we do not continuously monitor for new events. Use your own judgement before engaging any caregiver.

4. Account registration

You must provide accurate, complete, and current information when creating an account. You are responsible for safeguarding your account credentials. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

5. Prohibited conduct

6. Liability

The Service is provided "as is". To the maximum extent permitted by law, where.care disclaims all warranties. We recommend that both families and caregivers carry appropriate liability insurance for in-home care arrangements.

7. Disputes

These Terms are a working draft pending counsel review. Do not treat them as a finished legal agreement. Until counsel signs off, disputes are handled in good faith between the parties; we will publish a governing-law and dispute-resolution clause in a later revision and email registered users 14 days before it takes effect.

8. Changes

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be announced via email to registered users at least 14 days before they take effect.
