Hiring Notice

Last updated September 29, 2026. Document version 2026-09-29-draft.

You are hiring the caregiver

If you send a quote, book a shift, or open a visit log, you are hiring the caregiver yourself. where.care introduces you and provides the software. where.care does not employ the caregiver, does not supervise the visit, and does not assign clinical duties.

You may be a household employer under your state’s rules. where.care does not withhold income taxes, Social Security, or Medicare, and does not provide workers’ compensation. Check the workers’ compensation rules in your state before the shift. IRS Publication 926 is a starting point for household-employer taxes. It is not advice for your situation.

Background checks and license reviews are point-in-time. A Checkr badge means a Checkr report is on file. A staff review is not a Checkr report. Neither one decides whether a benefit program will pay.
